Nikki gravitates toward telling stories about people on the fringes, socially or psychologically, told with poignancy, humor, and usually some bite.

She wrote + directed the feature dramedy AS HIGH AS THE SKY, which was distributed by Cinema Libre Studios after garnering multiple awards and strong reviews. Her dark comedic short, “Debbie Walks Her Duck” is currently on the festival circuit and her short dramedy, “Meow!” is in post.

Past writing projects include adapting the NYTimes best-selling memoir FAST GIRL for Eleonore Dailly (I AM NOT AN EASY MAN) and developing “Sundown,” a one-hour drama about the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Intelligence Project to which Zoe Saldana’s production company Cinestar was attached.

Nikki works towards equity and parity in the entertainment industry with the Alliance of Women Directors, is happy to be a cat mom, and has never met a crossword puzzle she doesn’t like.

“You are a poet for lonely people.”
